Pupils and teachers from Khalsa Secondary Academy took part in the London Peace Conference 2014. Discussing world peace.
A thank you from one of the organisers:-
It is now over a month since the London Peace Conference and I wanted to thank you very much indeed for allowing the young people from the Khalsa Secondary Academy to be part of this special occasion.
Everyone was so taken with their poise, confidence and friendliness. The singing lifted everyone’s hearts and was very poignant. For all the adults, it pulled into sharp focus our responsibility for bringing peace to the world not just for ourselves but for future generations. The pupils brought hope and love into the conference and we were moved.
I’ve attached a few photos, including a group photo which also includes the Academy young people. There are more photos from the day here http://londonpeacenetwork.org/london-peace-conference-2014. Over 100 people from different religious traditions (and non-religious people) took part and we hope to continue the conversations at a Peace Café during the winter and spring months.
Navleen and the young people are a great credit to the Academy and I look forward to staying in touch with you all.
With many thanks and all good wishes
