Expressive Arts includes Drama, Music, Art and Design and Technology.

The Art department offers pupils an extensive and enriching curriculum diet that draws out their creativity and passion for expression. Inclusive of all pupils’ abilities and drawing on the personal talents of individuals, all lessons and extra-curricular activities are planned to equip pupils with the capacity for acquisition and progress.

In KS3 the students will learn about Shape, Line, Tone, Mark-Making, Colour Theory, Composition and Artist Research. This will be through the use of Poly Printing, Watercolour, Oil Pastels, Pencil, Pen and Acrylic Paint.

Design and Technology
Design and Technology is an exciting an innovative subject enabling the students to develop a wide range of skills. Students in Year 7, 8 and 9 learn ‘Key Skills’ in a range of specialist areas which are developed throughout Key Stage 3. These include Graphics, Textiles, Food and Product Design.
In KS3 students will learn how to Research, Analyse, Design, Develop, Make and Evaluate around a range of projects. Students will also learn about Industrial Practice and the Social, Moral, Environmental and Ethical issues surrounding the design process.
