KHALSA SECONDARY ACADEMY DELIVERS OUTSTANDING FIRST GCSE RESULTS
Students at Khalsa Secondary Academy, a Free School in South Buckinghamshire were celebrating after receiving their outstanding GCSE results. The Year 11 students were the first students through the school so this is a special moment for them, their families, staff and Governors of the school.
The Khalsa Secondary Academy is a non-selective school which caters for the Slough and South Bucks communities.
Overall, just over 85% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C. 79% of students achieved 5 or more A*-C including English and Mathematics. This is an excellent achievement and just as impressive is the 64% of pupils who achieved a score of 5 or more in both English and Mathematics, the new reformed GCSEs.
We are particularly proud of the amazing progress made by students since joining the school, the new Progress 8 score which measures the progress made by students in their 8 best GCSEs would place the school amongst the top performing schools nationally.
A quarter of all students achieved an outstanding 6 or more A*/A grades. 82% of our students achieved at least 1 A* grade.
The school achieved a score of +0.76 which is well above the expected national averages and likely to place it within the top 10% nationally. The school achieved an amazing 54% in the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) against the expected national average of around 25%. The Attainment 8 score which measures attainment across their 8 best GCSEs came in at 57 against an expected national average of 50.
Mrs Sulina Piesse, Principal, stated, “We are immensely proud of our students who have worked so hard for these results and they thoroughly deserve this success. We are lucky to have such dedicated staff and supportive parents who have worked with us to ensure their children have thrived and achieved so well”. “We wish them every success in their future school careers”.
“We are very proud of this achievement especially given the changes to the curriculum which has resulted in considerable pressure for both staff and students.
